Student Advisory Service
This service assists students with NorthTec regulations, policies and procedural issues, for example student concerns and complaints. Students are able to access for the Student Advisor for support and advocacy, as well as information on hardship, accommodation and scholarships.

Kaitakawaenga
Manaaki tangata. (Blessing peoples’ lives). This service is provided to empower Maori and Pacific Island students to succeed by providing learning support, financial and emotional support, The kaitakaenga can support in building relationships of trust between tutors and students, as well as student support networks. Disabilities Support Services
NorthTec encourages people with disabilities to enrol and fully participate in campus life. Our aim is to provide support and equitable conditions for students with temporary and permanent support needs. The Disabilities Co-ordinator is able to provide information and support for current and intending students with disabilities.

Student Mentor Programme
Student Mentors support new students as they adjust to study in a new environment. They provide a friendly face to make student life as easy as possible. Mentors can provide information on a whole range of issues, for example how to log onto the computer system, and who to approach for different student services.

Career Guidance Services
This service provides a career planning service to ensure students, and potential students make informed training decisions and are ready to make a successful transition into employment. Services are delivered by Career Services, Rapuara who are New Zealand's leading provider of career planning, advice and information.

Learning Advisory Service
Learning Advisors help students become effective and independent learners. They support students in developing academic skills, help with strategies to improve learning and give students resources to guide them. Learning Advisors also supportsstudents in developing generic skills, such as writing, academic reading, numeracy and critical thinking.

Counselling Services
The student counsellor supports and empowers students to cope with life situations, reduce emotional stress, make effective decisions and engage in growth activities.

Health Centre
NorthTec's registered nurses provide sickness care for students and provide medical check-ups, a sick bay, health counselling and a variety of other services.
